What Kind Of Deodorant Should You Use For Kids?
New research shows that more than 75 per cent of people with a particular version of a gene don`t produce under-arm odour but use deodorant anyway. It`s important to note that just because an ingredient is natural, it does not mean that some people won`t react to it. So if you do find your home-made deodorant irritates you, experiment with different ingredients until you hit upon a combination that works for you.
If the deodorant jar is large enough you could leave the deodorant in the jar and try heating it in a double boiler, then adding the oil directly in the jar (and deodorant) and stirring. Great easy-to-use fresh smelling deodorant with a cool feel to it. And it works real well! It`s a pH thing- the baking soda makes your underarms unhospitable to odor-producing bacteria. For some people, JUST coconut oil works for them - maybe you are one of those lucky folks! I would strongly recommend not using the same essential oil for an extended amount of time. I`ve been using my own homemade deodorant for two years now, and I have no desire to go back. Some folks also just skip the baking soda, others have luck with simply coconut oil, and others find that certain brands of baking soda have fewer contaminants. Once the beeswax pellets are melted take your pan off the heat and stir in the remaining ingredients. Then measure out an equal amount of baking soda, and add it to the corn starch.
I`ve been using this type of
home made deodorant
for about three years. At the start I developed itchy red bumps under my armpits, though didn`t get the peeling you`ve described. After much experimenting I found that modifying the dry ingredients to 1 part baking soda to 3 parts arrowroot/cornstarch fixed the problem.
Some great essential oils for deodorant also act as antimicrobials (since bacteria is what causes the smell, using something to wipe them out is even better!) While the oils of bay, cinnamon, clove and thyme are the most inhibitory, they can also lead to major sensitivity in the pit-ular area.
Store bought deodorant can be incredibly toxic, containing endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDC`s) such as parabens and phthalates and even metals like aluminum. Seems to be working very well so far, however I am thinking of buffering the spritz with a little baking soda to make this light acid solution more neutral or alkaline. Eventually I found Toms of Maine deodorant The stick version didn`t work at all for me, but thankfully, the citrus roll-on did! Some natural deodorants are in liquid or spray form, while others are solid sticks of crystals that you wet and apply to your underarms. Hint: If you want to be even more frugal, you can just use plain baking soda as a deodorant.
Honestly, most homemade deodorants are made up of the same ingredients In this recipe I just adjusted the ratio of
to arrowroot powder until I had a balance that worked for my husband. You can use a stick deodorant anywhere and needn`t worry about inhaling the fumes. From my experience, this deodorant should last about 6 months, possibly even longer.
Start by adding your drops of essential oil onto your cotton ball over the sink in the kitchen or bathroom and open a window. I have been looking for the best deodorant for women for many years... but unfortunately had only disappointments. Arrowroot powder dissolves more easily, makes a smoother product, and will result in a final product more the color of the beeswax. I do better with just coconut oil, baking soda and cornstarch with some tea tree EO, even though it melts easily.
Given that so many consumer safety advocates question the safety of many commercially produced deodorant and antiperspirant ingredients on our bodies I am happy to make the switch. When multiple liquids have different properties that make them unmixable (like oil and water), emulsifying agents are used to convert them into a cohesive mixture.
